DO NOT USE CADUET IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING. Atorvastatin can cause serious harm to a developing fetus and can pass into breast milk. If you become pregnant, stop taking Caduet immediately and contact your doctor. Also, inform our pharmacist if you have active liver disease or unexplained muscle pain/weakness (myopathy), as statins can rarely cause a serious muscle breakdown condition called rhabdomyolysis.
Take one tablet daily, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food, but it is best to take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Note: Avoid consuming large amounts of grapefruit juice (more than 1 liter a day), as it can increase the concentration of both Amlodipine and Atorvastatin in your blood, raising the risk of side effects like excessively low blood pressure or muscle pain.
The most common side effects include swelling of the ankles or feet (edema), dizziness, headache, fatigue, and mild digestive upset (diarrhea or nausea). Some patients may experience mild muscle or joint pain. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of an allergic reaction (swelling of the face/tongue) or severe, unexplained muscle tenderness accompanied by a fever or dark-colored urine.
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tablets in their original bottle or blister packaging until use. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not use beyond the expiry date printed on the packaging.
