EpiPen is the primary clinical defense against severe, systemic allergic reactions caused by:

Standard Procedure:
Flip & Grip: Remove the EpiPen from its carrier tube. Form a fist around the unit with the orange tip pointing down. Pull off the blue safety release with your other hand.
Swing & Push: Swing and firmly push the orange tip against the outer thigh until it clicks. Hold firmly in place for 3 full seconds.
Massage: Remove the EpiPen (the orange cover will extend to hide the needle). Massage the injection area for 10 seconds to accelerate absorption.
Post-Injection:
Note the Time: Inform the medical team of the time the injection was given.
Second Dose: If symptoms do not improve or worsen within 5–15 minutes, a second EpiPen may be used if available.
Common, expected side effects after use include a rapid or pounding heartbeat, "shakiness" (tremors), sweating, nausea, dizziness, and a feeling of anxiety or fear. These are normal signs that the adrenaline is working and usually subside quickly.
Temperature: Store at room temperature (20°C to 25°C). Do NOT refrigerate or freeze. Do not leave it in a hot car.
Light Protection: Keep the Auto-Injector in its protective carrier tube to shield it from light.
Expiration Tracking: Always check the expiration date. An expired EpiPen may be less effective; ensure you have a replacement before the date arrives.
Q: Can I use it through "Jeans"?
A: Yes. The needle is designed to penetrate denim and most common clothing. Just ensure there are no buttons, zippers, or thick seams in the way.
Q: What if I accidentally inject my "Finger"?
A: Go to the emergency room immediately. Adrenaline constricts blood vessels, and if injected into a finger, it can dangerously cut off circulation.
Q: Why is there "Liquid" left in the device after use?
A: This is normal. The device is designed to deliver a precise 0.3mg dose; the remaining fluid is simply leftover and should be discarded with the device.
Q: Can I use the 0.3mg dose for a "Small Child"?
A: The 0.3mg dose is for those over 30kg. For children between 15kg and 30kg, the EpiPen Jr (0.15mg) is required.
