Moxifloxacin is primarily indicated for the treatment of Bacterial Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) caused by susceptible strains of bacteria. Because of its superior penetration into the eye tissues and its high potency, it is also frequently used by eye surgeons as a Prophylaxis (preventative treatment) before and after cataract or LASIK surgery to prevent sight-threatening endophthalmitis.
