Tractocile contains Atosiban, a synthetic oxytocin receptor antagonist. It works by blocking the effects of oxytocin on the uterine muscles, thereby reducing uterine contractions.

Uses:
Tractocile is used for the management of preterm labor in pregnant women. By relaxing the uterine muscles, it helps delay premature birth for up to 48 hours. This delay allows time for additional interventions such as the administration of corticosteroids to improve fetal lung maturity or transfer of the mother to a specialized maternity unit if needed.
